DIGGING 4 GOLD: The Search for Vintage Vinyl in West Africa

In 2010, I began submitting archival material to the Bokoor African Popular Music Archive Foundation (BAPMAF) in Ghana. The project quickly evolved into a personal quest to discover the sounds of 70s west Africa. Along for the ride was a veteran record scout - Lion - who for the last decade has been seeking out valuable recordings for western vinyl collectors.
